Chifley Tower DAS Connected!

Tenants, staff, and visitors of Chifley Tower, located at 2 Chifley Square, can now benefit from the recent installation of a Multi-Operator MCF compliant Distributed Antenna System (DAS), which provides coverage throughout the commercial, retail and basement of the precinct. A truly unique building on the Sydney skyline known by many for its top-tier tenants and bustling lunchtime food court, the new DAS provides a world-class connectivity experience.

The system was delivered for building owner Charter Hall, putting another landmark project under the belt of the Wireless Coverage Solutions in-house team.  2 Chifley Square was one of the first sites in the country to have a DAS installed in yesteryear based on its prestigious commercial office space. However, the existing DAS system could no longer provide for the high-capacity 4G and 5G bands available today. Consequently, an upgrade was necessary.

The new system is a Hybrid DAS, including High Power Active DAS remotes throughout the premises. The CommScope ERA platform provides 7 cellular bands today, with an upgrade path earmarked for 3.5GHz 5G connectivity in the future. Catering for all 7 operator bands offers ultimate flexibility for future upgrades in line with various operator’s spectrum strategies, which facilitate a range of 5G upgrade pathways on existing frequencies. The system includes 630 antennas connected with a whopping 16km of cable, ensuring no matter what public areas you find yourself in, you’ll have a great experience.

A comprehensive design and testing regime throughout the building ensured a smooth operator connection by lead carrier Telstra and subsequent connection by Vodafone
